Suicidal Thoughts in (Peri) Menopause — It’s time we talked about it.

If you’ve found yourself thinking, “What’s happening to me?”

You are not alone. And you are not broken.

I’ve experienced loss in my life — I’ve lost a baby, I’ve lost a mother — but this was the heartbreak of losing myself.

It wasn’t until I realised I was in perimenopause that the pieces started to fall into place: the mood swings, the suicidal thoughts, the rage, the tears I couldn’t stop, the bone-deep fatigue.

My hormones were shifting. My entire identity was being reshaped.
And no one had prepared me for it…no one prepares any of us!!! It’s time that changes.

👉 The highest suicide rate in women occurs between the ages of 45–54.
We need to be having this conversation.

This is why Bridget and I created Murmurr — so no woman walks this path alone.

We are here to give voice to the parts of your story that have been silenced, dismissed, or pathologised — and to remind you:
You are not going crazy.
You are not alone.
And you are so worthy of support.

💛 If this resonates, please share it. Tag a friend who needs to hear this. Tag a friend and let them know you need support.
Let’s keep this conversation going!!!

Let’s rewrite the story of menopause — together.

My biggest love,

Marie.
